Firm welcomes Stephanie Gushlaw

The firm is excited to announce it welcomed Stephanie Gushlaw as its newest associate on August 26, 2019. Ms. Gushlaw joins the firm after receiving her law degree, cum laude, from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. In 2013, Ms. Gushlaw earned her bachelor of science in public relations from Syracuse University in New York.

Ms. Gushlaw will practice in the areas of business and municipal litigation. As a former business owner, Ms. Gushlaw brings a unique perspective to her law practice with practical insights into screening, interviewing, and hiring job applicants; training and managing employees; and discharging employees. She also has experience in public relations, forming small businesses, and creating marketing and crisis management plans.

Throughout her tenure at law school, Ms. Gushlaw was very active in Cumberland’s Trial Advocacy Program, winning the National Civil Trial Competition in 2017 and the National Trial Competition Regional Tournament in 2018. Ms. Gushlaw also served as chief judge of the Trial Advocacy Board, was selected as a Judge Abraham Caruthers Teaching Fellow, and served on the Public Interest and Community Service Executive Board. In 2017, Ms. Gushlaw was recognized for her dedication to service as Cumberland’s Celebrate Pro Bono Law Student Honoree.
