David Canupp speaks about what makes a great place to work

On November 4, 2015, Lanier Ford attorney David Canupp provided a program for the Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce about great places to work.  In addition to exploring why businesses are selected as great places to work, the seminar also addressed the effects of hostile work environments and suggested approaches to eliminating them.

A large part of Mr. Canupp's practice consists of defending employers in wage and hour lawsuits (including nationwide collective actions), and in lawsuits alleging employment discrimination on the basis of race, sex, religion, national origin, disability, and so forth. He writes frequently on the firm’s Third Shift Employment Law Blog, and is often asked to provide commentary for the media on employment topics.  He routinely assists employers in reviewing handbook policies for legal compliance, preparing severance agreements, implementing protocols to prevent abuse of leave under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and complying with state and local immigration laws.  Finally, Mr. Canupp is frequently retained by both businesses and government agencies to provide guidance in complying with the accessibility requirements of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).
