Since joining Lanier Ford Shaver & Payne in 1991, Mr. Kelly's practice has been devoted to a wide range of civil litigation, with an emphasis on appellate practice. Mr. Kelly has handled appeals in the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and each of Alabama's appellate courts. The firm's clients have fully prevailed in over 90 appeals handled by Mr. Kelly.
Mr. Kelly has handled appeals involving numerous areas of the law, including medical malpractice, fraud, bad faith, retaliatory discharge, contract law, premises liability, constitutional law, workers' compensation, insurance coverage disputes, education law, the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), contractor liability, wrongful death, co-employee liability, and civil rights law.
